Will the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Have 800+ HP?
As the launch date for the laboriously-teased 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon draws ever closer, we’re still in the dark on what may be the most critical feature: its performance rating. But looking back at the teasers, we have discovered a clue we may have missed. In the video Performance Pages, we get a pretty close look at how much this beast will put out.
So far, we know the SRT Demon will be lighter, and have some pretty intense hardware to mitigate the sheer power of the engine (drag radials, forced induction, and torque management). Yet when we look at the car’s 0-60 time compared to the SRT Hellcat, we can see that it’s half a second quicker. Glancing at the Dyno page drives the point home further: the scale tops out at 750 horsepower, but the graph continues up to 850.
Are we looking at an 800+ horsepower quarter-mile killer? If so, we’ll find out shortly at the New York Auto Show. In the meantime, stop by our Dodge dealership in Baltimore, OH for your current automotive needs.
